154 Exhibition kicks of with a Launch on June 2nd: very happy having my artwork on the poster, looking forward to attend the opening and run a workshop. (via Fabric Lenny)

Again, just a test-run using Reflectionapp. Nothing exciting, and i chose a bad screen ratio.
Here’s the final piece.
The Distributed Artist | Session NEXT 2012

Back from Berlin and looking back at our session at the NEXT 2012: together with Fabric Lenny I tried to put a spotlight on how collaborative art could benefit from networks and data.
The Distributed Artist
As this was a completely slide-free session, this was our setup: we asked the audience to send orders or direction (paint a dragon! use only your left hand!) towards our twitter handle @nextorders. Using SketchShare, which sadly isn’t available at this point (What happened to SketchShare?), one of us would start to collaborate via a second iPad that we handed to the audience.
Our main iPad was mirrored to the my MacBook Air using Reflection, so we were able to show both orders and life painting.
Over the course of 25 mins, we painted a collaborative piece with the approx. 150 people in the audience, switching roles in the middle of it.
Knowing the conference wifi can be flaky, we ran the whole thing through a 4G XSBox mifi. Worked flawless.
Here’s a look at the almost finished piece:

The NEXT Kitchen
In a second session we had about 2 hours, showcasing as many apps as possible by painting 15mins pieces based on the orders by the audience. Printed and ready to take home. Since this was in an open-space and bit noisy environment, it didn’t turn out exactly as many-to-many-communicative as we hoped, but it was still a fun session.
5 min ipad painting video using procreate
I just bought Reflection, an app that let’s you mirror your iPad/iPhone to your mac. It also let’s you record, so i gave that feature a quick spin. No sound yet sorry.
The final piece, a 5 min scribble:

Getting ready for the NEXT 2012
I’m about to start packing things and thoughts for Berlin, as it’s time for the NEXT conference. Fabric Lenny and I will be talking about the “The Distributed Artist” and do some collaborative art with the crowd attending in a 25 min slot as part of the mobile track (Hat tip to Jörg Jelden, the curator).
We’ll also be cooking in the “NEXT kitchen - 15 mins to frame”, a 2 hour workshop about finger painting. Amongst makerbots and 3d-printers, we will serve fast cooked painting dishes based on orders from the visitors.
